November 2012 News Update: Thank You

Thank you very much indeed for helping us win the 2012 People’s Choice Awards for best Nationwide Audio Visual Hire! The original reason we started the Rock Factory was to help and support bands in our community who don’t always have a lot of money. We moved into corporate work to enable us to keep doing what we love, and it turns out that corporate work is a pleasure to do as well! We count ourselves so lucky that we get to do both these days, and feel appreciated by both musicians and corporate clients. Without your support we couldn’t do any of this, so from the bottom of our geeky little hearts, thanks for continuing to take your business to us, and thank you again for voting.

Moving on in the year, November will be a great month for us, and for everyone in Auckland, as events are now steadily moving outdoors again!

  • Last Saturday we would have been at Auckland‘s biggest community festival, the massive Grey Lynn Park Festival had it not have been cancelled due to bad weather!  We
wholeheartedly support the team in their decision – what a tough call to make! There’ll always be next year, and we’re already looking forward to it.
  • Silo Park will be starting their next season on November 23 with Silo Cinemas, followed by Nick D’s Weird Together Presents World Together on December 1.
  • On Nov 24 we’ll take care of the sound at this year’s Neilstock in Tirau. We’ve been working with those guys for many years now and can’t wait to join the party!
  • Early December, on Dec 2, we’ll be part of Hospice West’s Light Up Hospice event in Te Atatu, again, this year with Lisa Crawley and Adeaze
  • On the same day, December 2 that is, we’ll take care of Dance In The Park in Devonport, which is part of the local christmas festivities.

So much more is happening this month, too much to tell you in one short newsletter! You’re bound to see us out and about, so please do say hi if you run into us, it’s always nice to meet you!

Be it function rooms, concert venues, pubs, galleries, conference centres, living rooms, rehearsal spaces, community centres or recording studios – we know what we’re doing!

New Gear
Our brand new portable PA system is perfect for wedding ceremonies and speeches, for farmers markets and any kind of occasion that doesn’t need a full set up, but simply light amplification. The amp itself runs on a battery, meaning that without the hassle of cables or the noise of a generator, it can be taken flexibly wherever needed, giving you more freedom of choice when it comes to the location of your perfect event.

Venues We Like: Outdoors!
Did you know that most local parks can be booked for private functions and events? It’s easier and more affordable than you’d imagine – give the good people of the Auckland City Council  a ring to talk about specifics. Even your own garden can turn into a lovely, atmospheric concert and/or party venue with a little light and a stage. All of our gear is perfectly suited to support whatever it is you’re planning!

Venues We Like: The Winchester
Based on the groundfloor of a gorgeous art deco era Freemason’s building, the Winchester is the perfect location for any kind of function. The rooms and their capacity are extremely flexible and well worth checking out – contact Jerry for more info. Give us a call if you need help with your audiovisual needs!
