Description
Achieve superior sound control, reduce microphone bleed, and create a cleaner mix with our professional 5-panel clear drum shield hire / drum baffle.
Product Description
Take control of your drum sound with our Drum Shield / Drum Screen hire. Designed to effectively isolate the drum kit, this essential acoustic barrier helps to manage stage volume, reduce microphone bleed from other instruments, and provide a much cleaner mix for both front-of-house and monitor engineers. Our drum shield is constructed from 5x 1.8m high clear panels of acrylic plexiglass, offering excellent sound deflection without obstructing the visual connection between the drummer and the band or audience.
Ideal for live performances in small to medium venues, houses of worship, corporate events, and studio or broadcast recording sessions, a drum shield allows the drummer to play with full expression. This ensures other instruments and vocals remain clear and balanced in the mix.
A primary reason for using a drum shield or drum baffle is to keep cymbals and other loud drum sounds out of vocal mics or any other hot microphone on stage. Another key benefit is protecting the first few rows of your audience; without a drum shield, they are likely to receive an earful of drums and insufficient PA, resulting in a poor overall mix. When selecting a drum shield, it should be practical, effectively keeping drums and cymbals out of other microphones on stage and protecting the audience. To achieve this, ensure the drum shield is high enough that the cymbals are not higher than the shield itself, which for us is typically about five feet. Additionally, a good drum shield should visually disappear and not stand out too much onstage.
Pair your drum shield with our precision Shure SM81 condenser microphones for drum overheads or acoustic instruments, and manage your mix with an Allen & Heath D-Live Mixer for ultimate control.
You may want to hire one of our drum kits or some rent some drum kit microphones too.
Key Features & Benefits:
- Effective Sound Isolation: Hiring a drum shield significantly reduces the volume of drums and cymbals on stage, preventing them from overpowering other instruments and vocals.
- Reduces Microphone Bleed: Minimises unwanted drum sound spilling into other instruments and vocal microphones, resulting in a cleaner and more controlled mix.
- Improved Mix Clarity: Allows sound engineers to shape the drum sound coming through the PA with greater precision, resulting in a more polished and professional overall mix.
- Enhanced Stage Monitoring: Helps musicians hear themselves and each other better on stage by reducing drum volume and improving overall performance cohesion.
- Transparent Design: Made from high-quality clear acrylic plexiglass, maintaining visual contact between the drummer and the rest of the band/audience.
- Optimal Height: Each panel stands at 1.8m (just below 6 feet) high, providing effective sound deflection for both drums and cymbals.
- Modular 5-Panel Configuration: The 5-panel design offers flexibility in setup, allowing you to create a suitable enclosure around most standard drum kits.
- Durable & Portable: Constructed for rugged use in live and studio environments, designed for relatively easy setup and pack down.
